Question Cpu cable doesnt match

Im having a little trouble connecting the cpu cable to my motherboard, like, technically it does fit without resistance because the symbols dont match. My psu is msi mpg a650gf and mobo is gigabyte z690 ud ddr4. Can i plug it in and try to turn the pc on or would that maybe kill my motherboard

are you sure you are using the proper EPS cable and have the connector oriented the correct way?
this power supply comes with a standard 8pin(4+4) CPU EPS cable and that board uses a standard connection:

Yes Im sure. The eps cable from psu has 2 squares and 6 keys (keys?) while the mobo socket has 4 squares ans 4 keys

I can see in your picture that you hold 4+4 cable in your hand. That's the right cable for CPU. No other PSU cable has the connector that can be split to make two identical halves (except perhaps the other identical cable if your PSU has two).

Its basically a 2 cable system; one 8 pin cable and one 4 pin cable. With many power supplies you have a cable which can be split in half providing you with the 4 pin cable you need for the smaller socket.
