cpu can no longer run program it could before

My cpu is a i5-3750k, two weeks ago I could run without any problems multiple game at the same time.

Now my CPU is at a 100% as soon as I start any program. The strange thing is that my task manager is at 23% to 35% when any other monitoring program is at a 100%. I tried speedfan, intel processor diagnostic tool and corsair link.

I thought it might be a temperature problem so I bought a h80i. I also did a clean windows 8 install, both of those thing did not work, the temp is now at 60 Celsius. But goes down to 50 degrees when idle.

I have no idea why this is happening, please advise.

What does Intel Extreme Tuning Utility display while running the CPU stress test (a mild stress test compared to Prime95)? Check the CPU frequency and temperature.

Okay I think I found the problem the temperature goes to 105 Celcius and the frequency goes from 3.14 to 0.99 GHz. I also realised that the H80i is not working but the fan are I just sent a message to corsair to help me fix.

Is this temperature dangerous for my PC should I close it until the pump is fixed?

You could reinstall the original Intel fan, but you need to apply new thermal paste.

Edit: The CPU throttles to protect itself, but you need to cool it better.
