Good day ya'all,

A few days ago, my mother gave me her old laptop (Vostro 3560) and it runs on an i3 2370M. I prefer to keep this laptop and JUST replace the processor for a decent 2nd Generation i5/i7. The motherboard is 'Dell Inc. 05GV6H'. Would any one suggest me what I can pick? Thanks!

I would refrain from doing so in a laptop as tdp would go up your cooler may not be able to handle the heat and you battery life may go down juristically, laptops arnt like desktops where you can just change hardware like that there is a lot more to consider

Thanks for answering. The cooling isn't a problem to me :)

Thanks, I'll strip it apart and see what can be replaced. :)

Edit: I've disassembled the beast, even removed the CPU-- It wasn't that difficult :)

well I would definitely consider cooling because you can fry components if it gets to hot

Getting a SSD is already on the list, which isn't an issue :)

I've got a few drawers fill with cooling heatsinks, paste, fans, oh heck, even thermo-electric peltier devices!
If ever it does FRY, then I'll go to the depanneur get some eggs for a breakthrough--- hahah!
