Cpu changing

Hi dudes,
I wanna change my cpu to in order to play witcher 2 faster , and make my computer faster. my system configuration is :
motherboard Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3
CPU DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo E4600, 2400 MHz (12 x 200)
gpu nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT

I wanna buy Intel Core2 Quad Q8400 2.66 GHz 1333MHz 4MB 775p this cpu . If ı buy this , will my performance increase significantly ? Does it worth ? Or should i change one of my other component ? What do you recommend ?

For modern games, the whole system will need a bit of an upgrade. The 8800GT is a bit long in the tooth.
