I'm building my computer and I'm stuck on what CPU to get.
I'm running a MSI X99a carbon mother board. With 2 GeForce gtx 1080ti gpus. Three 4K monitors. And I'm going to be doing a lot of gaming and streaming games live. Everything will also be water cooled with a custom loop.

What CPU should I get?

Solution
Do you already have these parts? I feel like you should have picked the CPU first. It also depends on what you are realliny got spend. You are going to need some cores and threads to pump info to those cards.

If money is no problem, the i7-6950X comes to mind. If that is too much, then the follow chips in decreasing order: i7-6900K, 6850K, 6800. Again you will want more cores to get all of that running smoothly.

You can get anything starting from a 6800k(cheapest) right upto a 6950x(most expensive), and either should be able to handle gaming and streaming on 4k with triple monitors. But given your intent, you shouldnt go any higher than the 6900k as it will be a waste of money and resource. Infact a 6850k will be the sweet spot with enough clock speed as well as core count to handle what you want to do.

imo if you are going to spend that much , get an 6950X although an 6900K will be enough as well. Why do you need 3x4K monitors? Surround sucks with the bezels (even if you have really thin bezels), It will also be difficult to run games at even for sli gtx 1080ti. Scaling would be terrible or downright unsupported. Better to game on only one monitor and get another for everything else (maybe even a 3440x1440 one).
