Question CPU compatibility ?

Hello,

I am resurrecting an old desktop for a nephew with:

Gigabyte F2A75M-D3H
16gb ram ddr3
1Tb Western Digital blue
A8-5800k with Radeon graphics

The old desktop was using integrated graphics. A pal gave me a "used" Powercolor Radeon R7 video card and A8-7680 with Radeon graphics.

Now formerly the old desktop had the A8-5600K CPU. It's still attached to the motherboard. In lieu of the donated A8-7680, I want to ask if I can swap (use) it to the old setup.

Can I use it to replace the A8-5600K?

I (we) can't afford a new desktop for my nephew as we have poor economics now. Pandemic has hit us hard thus whatever we can use/re-use we try.

Can you please advise me on the CPU? I have not yet removed the A8-5600K as I will test the ram in a couple of days.

Thanks in advance!

That motherboard can only take up to the A-6000 series.

eBay has used Athlon X4 760ks for under $20. An A10-6800k runs more like $25-30.

Try finding a used A10-6800k or Athlon x4 760k. Those will go in with a BIOS update. Do note both are 100W TDP CPUs so you need to be sure to have an adequate CPU cooler.
Hi mate,

Thanks for your reply. That is what I was looking for previously (A10-6800)! Okay will keep that in mind. Cheers!
