CPU compatibility

I got an ASRock 970 EXTREME3 and AMD Phenom II X4 965 for upgrade. Wondering if they are compatible. I assumed they were since the cpu is AM3 and the mobo is AM3+, but I also checked the compatibility list and didn't see the model number of my cpu.
