Hello,

I've recently bought a very cheap ThinkCentre M79, it's got an A4-6300B CPU with integrated gpu. I've installed a GTX750, and was wondering if an Athlon II X4 840 will work on that setup (It's on sale).

I think the motherboard is an a78m-e35, but I'm not 100% sure.

No. The Athlon fits a different socket from the A4-6300B.

Safer to just go with this specsheet and choose either A8-6500B or A8 PRO-7600B.
The difference? The PRO has a stronger integrated gpu. That's it. Handy if you don't already have a discreet gpu.
