CPU cooler for 100w CPU, max height 140mm?

Solution

This cooler is awesome: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103064

It is basically the famous CM 212 Evo, but smaller. I used it in my MicroATX build, and it is a lot quieter and better than before on my stock AMD cooler. It is very well rated, cheap, and is a great product.

If you are using Intel, installation is a lot simpler than AMD. If you are using an AMD CPU, have another person help you clip in one side of the cooler while you clip in the other. Also, make sure you use a small thermal paste dot, right in the middle...

Good luck!

Download prime95: http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=205

That will run the CPU at 100% and do essentially a stress test at the hottest and fastest the CPU can run.

32-33C for idle is really good. Are you on AMD or Intel? AMD that is REALLY good, and Intel it is pretty good.

Good luck!

Ah, I think I was reading the wrong thing in HWmonitor. I have an AMD A10-6800k and was reading CPUTIN but apparently I should read package temp?

After 15 minutes in bios temperature levels out at 52°
HWmonitor CPUTIN temp is 32° idle 52° load
HWmonitor Package temp is 45° idle and 82° load
AMD overdrive reports thermal margin of 70° idle and 30° load

Does that sound a little high?
