CPU cooler mounting holes too big?

Might be a dumb question, but it seems like I need an adapter kit or something to install the CPU cooler? The holes seem too large for the screws. Two of them have a small notch in them that might fit? The motherboard is a Gigabyte B450M-DSH3 paired with a Ryzen 2400g with the stock cooler. I've only put one other build together and didn't seem to have this issue.

There is a back plate that those plastic pieces were screwed into. Screw the wraith cooler into that.

Some stock coolers use plastic pins that when twisted expand to lock onto the board. Follow the instructions for the cooler.

It's just the stock Wraith Spire cooler that comes with the CPU.

Are you talking about the two plastic pieces that were already attached? https://imgur.com/a/OyTcEQN
If so, the manual says to remove them for this cooler, which is round and does not fit with those installed.

Wow I'm an idiot. I didn't even notice it was there when I installed the motherboard. Thanks!
