I am trying to replace my brother's 1600 with a 3600x. I did one session of 10-minute cinebench and a second session for 20-minutes and I can't seem to take off the cooler. I did a little twist and turn when I am removing the cooler and it still doesn't work. Should I stress test it longer with like 30 minutes per session?
Mobo: b350 tomahawk
CPU: 1600 to 3600x
GPU:1660ti
CPU cooler: AMD wraith
SSD:500gb samsung SSD EVO
PSU: some evga psu 550watt
I am running cinebench because I thought it would help with removing the cpu cooler since the thermal paste is old.

You should only need to run such a test long enough for the paste to warm up, which generally takes but a few minutes.

If that's not working, and the wiggle isn't working, try heating it up, then hit it with some dental floss. Probably easier to do if the ram/gpu is removed first. Just saw the floss back and forth in U shape to break the seal on the paste. Never use anything hard/sharp or metallic, such as knife blades, you run the risk of denting the IHS and possibly causing damage to the chiplets.

The heating didn't work and I didn't have dental floss at home. I just used a screw driver to pop it off.
