Hi everyone,
So I just built a new pc, using some new and some previously used components. The cpu cooler is a MSI Mag 360 liquid cooler, purchased new, and the motherboard is a previously used gigabyte aorus z590. Long story short, on a normal startup ,cpu temps reach 90+. A simple restart does not fix anything, HOWEVER, when the restart is accompanied by a quick visit of the BIOS, cpu temps drop and continue to stay low in the 30 range when idle , and relatively low under load. Note that I don’t change anything at all in the bios and just simply press the button to go to bios during startup, and then continue to windows afterwards. In the bios, the cpu cooler shows normal function.
