CPU Cooler Question

Hello friends,
I just had a quick question, I've heard that a bigger cooler shortens the life of your motherboard. The idea behind that being that the more weight on the socket area from the bigger cooler is bad and will eventually be the downfall of your motherboard. Is this myth or fact?

My philosophy is that a motherboard should naturally be horizontal for best component thermals as in a HAF XB so it doesn't matter how much the cooler weighs.

I agree with you on that, but not in all situations I can do that

I use the Noctua NH-D14 , Phanteks PH-TC14PE . Deepcool Gamer ASSASSIN all HUGE air coolers , and if I thought my builds were in Jeopardy or lifespan would be decreased I wouldn't use them , they are tested I have no worries.

That is pretty damn cool and funny, but wouldnt work so well for me, crossfiring at the moment
