Cpu cooler with 3 broken pins

My cpu cooler has 3 broken pins
I'm using an intel heatsink and i wanted to change it from a pentium 4 541 to a core 2 quad q8300. Can you recommend me what cooler should i get for the cpu?

If three of the hold down pins are broken then the heatsink won't have the correct pressure between it and the CPU. You won't get adequate cooling. Even 1 broken pin should be thrown out, IMO.

Your question is the equivalent of "My car is missing 3 of the 4 wheels. Should I drive it on the freeway?" ...

Alright. I purchased a Deepcool 11509 with 3 pins. Will it be a problem if i put a problem if i use a 3 pin cooler into a 4 pin header?

Your cpu cooler should only go into the fan header labeled for the cpu. Not a sys_fan header
