Question CPU Cooling

I have an amd ryzen 2600x with the stock cooler that comes with it (wraith I believe). It has thermal paste applied and I was wondering if it is possible to replace it with a liquid cooler. Thanks

If you upgrade to a liquid cooler you will need to clean the old paste off and reapply new if the new doesn't come pre-applied , most do.

How do I take the fan off? Do I just rip it?

Also, will I have to clean the CPU? And will I have to take the CPU out of the motherboard? Or can I do it with in my case

Yes , needs to be cleaned for a new cooler. No need to take it out. Just be careful while cleaning.

Also what’s a good liquid cooler to get? One that will work good and isn’t above $80

After you unscrew the wraith spire cooler GENTLY twist the cooler to break the thermal compound seal. If you don't you'll pull the processor out of the socket.

Ok thank you. Do you have any recommendations for a liquid cooler that would work for my ryzen 5 2600x?

It's only a 65w tdp chip. Any 240mm rad will be plenty so I wouldn't go crazy. Just get one that looks good in the aesthetics department that is a reasonable price.

I personally wouldn't purchase an AIO for 1st or 2nd gen Ryzen for two reasons:

1. 65w tdp chip so they run very cool.
2. They aren't great overclockers.

Yes just make sure it's an AIO (All In One). I personally would invest the money on other areas of your build. Can you list your specs please?

My specs are GTX 1060 3gb, amd ryzen 5 2600x, AsRock b350 pro4, 16 gb of ddr4 2400mhz ram. I just recently replaced these so I am not looking to do it again, so I would rather overclock. All I play is fortnite as well.

That didn't answer my question. FPS and refresh rate are not one and the same.

You'd get better performance by going with a better kit of memory 2 x 8gb 3200mhz.
