I have asus sabertooth z97 mark 1 and i7 4790k. i got so confused about this option in the did+ power section in bios ( cpu current capability) i know the implied meaning of this option : it supports cpu with extra power when overclocking or under high cpu loading. the thing is when i overclock my i7 4790k to 4.8 @ 1.30 it draws power about 160 watt i think it is an excessive amount of power consumption so i set this option @ 100% to give me high protection and prevent cpu from drawing extra current. i think the motherboard should have shut it self off completely because of this option right ? instead of that pc runs fine and pulls much current. my question is : i need to see the effect of this option when it is set at 100% what will happen ? shutting off or what ? thanks

What Digi+ does it it fine tunes the number of phases that delivery power to your CPU socket area. If you've set it to 100% then it means that the power delivery area is given 100% of the VRM's ability to deliver power. I'm not quite sure why you'd think it would shut off?

* How did you determine it's pulling 160W of power with a kill-a-watt meter? Further reading.
