Okay so today I recieved my new z97 gaming 3 motherboard. All was going well until i tried to install my CPU. For some reason the two little things (not sure their exact name) that you slot the CPU into are two high for my CPU! I looked all over the internet but all i could find was something about LGA 1150 and 1155. Im sure this is not the case because there is absolutely no difference between my old motherboards CPU holder apart from the two things. Also in the manual it says that it is compatible with my CPU, which is an i5 4690k 3.5ghz, what the hell! Anyone got any ideas?

Pics? Hard to tell what the issue is given that the mobo does in fact support the 1150 chipset....should slot right in.

We meant pics of YOUR specific problem. AKA photos of the CPU in the bracket.
Posting a generic photo of a CPU and pointing out the pins doesn't say much.

oh sorry, i would take pics but i lost my phone today and have no other way to show my problem
