[SOLVED] "CPU Fan Error" and "CPU Over Temperature Error"

I built my PC 3 years ago from scratch. Everything was working well till yesterday.
But since this morning I have been receiving two errors when I boot my PC.

I get:

CPU Fan Error!
CPU Over Temperature Error!
Press F1 to SETUP.

When I press F1 and check BIOS settings it shows me that CPU temp is 88° C.
I updated my BIOS version and put my BIOS settings at "Default Settings" and reboot again but still I see the same errors.
My fan makes a lot of noise too which it didn't till last night.
The error came in effect only after I removed PSU power cable to check other system and plug it back again.

Specifications:

CPU : Intel Core i7-4790K
Motherboard : ASUS Z97-A
CPU cooler : Corsair Hydro Series H60
RAM : 8GB Corsair Vengeance (x4)
GPU : Asus STRIX GTX 970
PSU : CORSAIR CX series CX750 750W ATX12V

Also could be a dead pump in the aio.
Swap in an air cooler if you have one that fits.
Just watched Corsair's install video for this cooler. https://www.corsair.com/ca/en/Categories/Products/Liquid-Cooling/Single-Radiator-Liquid-Coolers/Hydro-Series%E2%84%A2-H60-High-Performance-Liquid-CPU-Cooler/p/CW-9060007-WW

It only uses one power plug, so if EITHER the fan OR the pump die, it would give this error.
Although 3 yrs of life isn't great, it is also not unusual on systems that get a fair bit of hours on them per year.

If you get a new one to replace it, stash the brackets somewhere you won't lose them, because odds are you could carry it forward to "most" future builds.

Of course it happens AFTER Black Friday/Cyber Monday...
hi, sorry about your issue. I have a couple suggestions/questions. A. maybe this was obvious to you but make sure the fan attached to your cpu cooler is fully plugged in and working properly, more noise could be from a cable malfunction and improper power distribution to that fan. also what kind of cooler are you using? are your fans plugged into the cpu fan headers on your motherboard and does changing your fan connector to another header solve the problem? also are you using stock thermal paste and if not have you changed it recently (although I doubt that would cause a fan error) and also make sure your cpu cooler is full secure on your case and not loose or falling off a bit. also make sure your cpu fan(s) are plugged into cpu_fan headers and not sys_fan headers and that all pins are straight.

A decent mid range ( $40-$60) air cooler will work about as well as the one you have now. Or better, depending.
