CPU Fan Error

Freshly-built rig. I turn on the power, It makes the POST beep and displays the boot screen. Then, It says "CPU Fan Error" while giving a continuous beep. It locks up and won't let me into the BIOS because it doesn't think the fan is working. After a few seconds it force-shuts down. The CPU fan is spinning, and I've tried it in every header and it still works, but I can't get the computer to recognize that. All suggestions are appreciated!

There is one specific header for the CPU fan that must be used.

What are the parts involved?

You might have this error because of temps also. Are you sure you installed the cooler correctly?

Well the guys at my local computer store said my cooler was installed correctly. I had them apply the thermal grease for me to make sure it was right.
