CPU fan faillure

My Compaq sg344oil indicates that the fan has failed. I can't even open computer setup. It shutdowns automatically. Can you tell me why is this so? Please help me !!!!!

Because the CPU fan failed, you need to replace it.
Without a CPU fan the CPU will overheat and damage itself becoming useless, so if the system detects one isn't installed (or broken) it won't let you damage the system.
