[SOLVED] Cpu fan on sys fan header

So my cpu 4 pin header on the motherboard is not working and i have connected the cpu fan header to the system fan header, now it is working.

My question is that, is there will be any change in the fan speed?
If so what should i do?
I don't want to buy a new motherboard.
Will the fan run at the max speed which was provided bn the 4 pin header?

You will have no issues running the fan of the SYS Fan header and as it is a 4 pin PWM fan the fan will be auto controlled via BIOS so no issues at all...Just set the profile in the BIOS to quiet mode and it should auto ramp up under load..

So that means it will run perfectly on the 3 pin sys header?
And i have set it to quiet mode, but what are these modes?
Is it not suitable to put it on normal mode?
In which mode the fan will run at full speed?

No problems in leaving it in 'normal' mode and it will also auto ramp up...It is just what I do so no issues at all...Yes it should run perfectly.

This should also help but as your fan is currently working I would not worry too much. Looks like you can only control via DC as it is a 3 pin header and not 4pin header but again it should be no issues.

So last should i enable smart fan control for the cpu fan that is connected on the 3 pin system fan?

If all is working normally for you right now, don't worry about that.

The only bad part about all that is that the cpu fan will not respond to cpu temps. Sys_fan headers are set for motherboard sensors. You'll have to use SpeedFan or similar to change that setting, as those old bios don't offer that option.
