CPU Fan problem?!?

Whenever I go to boot up my PC, it says, CPU Fan has a problem or something, even though I can clearly see that it is working fine. I have an Asus Z97 Gamer Pro Mobo, and i am using the Stock i5 4690k Cooler. Is there a way to fix this or am I going to have to just keep booting from my SSD so the pc can go to windows?

Check in your BIOS for CPU fan settings. Maybe it is running, but at low RPMs below the warning threshold? For example, if you can select a variety of different modes for the CPU fan, choose "Performance" or "Standard" rather than "Quiet" and see if that makes a difference.
Remove and re-seat the CPU fan's 4-pin connector on its header to be sure all leads (including the sense wire) still have good connections.
When your system is off, does the CPU fan turn easily by hand, or is it stiff? If it feels stiff, it may have a bearing problem that is slowing it down (and will eventually stop it).

Normally, this is because you're using an aftermarket heatsink & fan, which (at idle) spins at a rate below the motherboard's default alarm trigger (around 400rpm, IIRC). If you look in the monitoring section, you should see what the current CPU fan speed is, and what the warning threshold is (and change it if you wish).

Obviously, only change the threshold down if the fan appears to be functioning and cooling correctly, etc ...

He's not using an aftermarket fan though; it's the stock cooler. If it has slowed down, the bearings may be binding as they age and/or dry out.

Yeah, I know (I didn't say he was - I said it's normally because of one). Just thought I'd mention it in case the min RPM threshold had got pushed up previously, etc. Might be a good justification for a Hyper212 EVO or something ... 😉

In my research on coolers, I have found the only reason to get a Hyper212 EVO is if nothing else is available. It isn't a bad cooler, but is such a bang/buck Loser compared to one or more of http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2478892/alternatives-hyper-212-evo-budget-cooling.html that I am happy to have never wasted money on one.
