Hi all,
I have an old Packard Bell desktop PC. I've had it a few years and, although it's not the fastest, it's fine for browsing the web and watching YouTube.
I switched it on earlier today (all was fine when I turned it off last night) and the main fan is going really fast and sounds really loud - a bit like when a PC is running loads of applications and is getting hot.
But this issue is from cold, right at the bootup, so I can't imagine heat is an issue.
I've tried a system restore to a few days back in case the latest Windows 10 updates had caused an issue, but that didn't work.
I then reseated the CPU with new thermal paste and cleaned the fan and heatsink - still no change.
The PC is running absolutely fine - but I have this noisy fan that sounds like a vaccuum cleaner!
It doesn't sound "broken" - just noisy as if the CPU is hot,
Any ideas, folks?!
