CPU fan super high RPM at boot, then slows down to normal speed.

When I start my PC, my CPU fan (maybe even GPU fan) are super high RPM and it's very loud. Is there a fix to this problem? I'm not sure that there is much in the BIOS that I can tweak. I am using the stock Intel heat-sink as I don't overclock and have no need for one. Ever since I swapped my Pentium G860 with my newer Core i5 3570K last January, this has been a problem.

Thank you everyone!

Solution
I would try to find out exactly what fan it is. I have never heard the stock Intel fan as being THAT loud. the stock AMD cooler on some cpus can make quite the racket.

Not all fans sound the same. For instance, with my NF-P12 fans having a top speed of about 1200-1300 rpm a full speed startup is not that noticeable while my old video card with its fan able to spin upto over 5000rpm a full speed startup is quite noticeable.

You may be able to adjust settings in the bios to change the fan behavior as well. Ensure your board is controlling the fan via PWM and not Voltage since voltage fans will almost always be started full speed to ensure they do in fact get spinning first while PWM fans them selves should start under any requested...
Both video cards and motherboards may do this.

One reason is to ensure all fans have spun upto full speed. Some fans will run slower, but not start at that slow speed(PWM fans should be immune to this.).

I have even seen video cards that did it until the drivers load.

It never did it until I swapped my CPU though. Is there a fix to this? I have a buddy that has an Intel i5/Asrock Z75 Pro3 configuration like I and he isn't having this problem.

I figured it's a problem because of two reasons. For one, I have a friend with a very similarly spec'd machine and it does not do this to him. Two, it bothers me that it does this.

I actually have a Zalman fan that starts very slow not matter what to avoid the startup noise.

Unless you are going to change the cpu's/motherboards firmware, you'll just have to deal with it. Are those few seconds that annoying to you? If so, just buy an external voltage regulator for the fan speed and manually set it. Costs like $3. Just ask someone in a computer store. However, if you can live with it, just get used to it. Thats no hardware problem, or actually problem at all.

lol just reboot ya comp you can change the fan speed in the bios settings to silent or full speed depends if you have updated it or not most of them don't have a full speed option think you keep hitting DEL till it comes up
