I have heard that csgo only 4 cores and such. The only other program I will be running whilst playing will be discord.

What is the best value cpu that I can get for strictly this use (to repeat, discord and csgo) and still achieve “no bottlenecking” in csgo frames per second, even with a ridiculous gpu?

i3 8350K if I were building this specific rig today (and I could actually buy a frigging 8th gen CPU from Intel at MRSP) with a GTX 1070 or 1080.

Otherwise I'd just use a AMD 1400, OC it and match it with a RX 580/GTX 1060.

Do not hear derekullo opinion. First of all, source engine is an old engine. More powerful cores=more fps. Ryzen do not have power single cores. if you check for benchmarks the best bang for the buck for csgo would be an i5 8400.

Interesting, when the h series motherboards are released, these setups should be “similarly”priced. The i5 also has two more cores and faster effective speed, albeit having 2 less threads. Along with Intel’s overall gaming reliability and compatibility. So is it agreed that the i5 8400 is the best choice?
