Question CPU for a dedicated streamnig pc

Hello i built i dedicated streaming PC to free up my gaming rig. I did it around an old i5 7600 I had but it cant manage capturing 1440p and streaming at 720p the stream just dies. Im thinking getting an i7 7700 because uses the same socket and I think its the best 1151 socket upgrade I can get...cant get a 1050 gpu bc the only pci 16x slot is being used by the capture card. Will swapping the i5 7600 for the i7 7700 solve my problem? or i just did it all wrong and i will to basically build another PC ?

Getting an i7 probably wouldn't solve your problem. I capture gameplay with a second PC using an i3-6100 + capture card and it's only using maybe 25% of the CPU, but I dont' stream only capture at 1080p. What kind of capture card do you have? The 4K Elgato only uses 4x slot.

I got an elgato 4K60 Pro. The MoBo has only one PCI E 4x 8x 16x slot and 2 PCI E 1x. Never thought I would need a GPU if i had a dedicated CPU for streaming.
