Hie all. i am about to upgrade for my 3470 i have had for a while and is beginning to show its limitations . I tend to multi task and have multiple tabs open and it has been great on that aspect well as gaming. I am doing a full system upgrade in exception of my s340 case, EVGA 750W G2 PSU.
So far i have purchased the rx480 to replace my 280x and i am looking into getting a cpu that will last me for a while, atleast 4-5 years.

My current System has

R9 280X (REPLACED with rx80 )
Core i5 3470
8gb DDR3 1333MHZ
Mobo Asus p8h61 R2.0

When playing gta 5 my cpu is pegged between 95-100%. Still pegged at that when i reduce settings to the point where i don't get stutter. MSI afterburner states that the cpu temp is 52 degrees (using air cooler), Ram usage is 6.2gb and GPU usage is 99%.
All my other high demanding games like metro last light, battlefield 4, fallout 4, hitman use less than 80% CPU and are easily maxed out without Anti aliasing.

I will be getting games like Battlefield 1, sniper ghost warrior e.t.c At the moment i am looking into an i7, Xeons, or a 1700 rayzen if an i7 is what i should be looking at do i need the latest i7 or would a xeon E3 1245 V5 suffice? i feel that intel has not made much jumps in cpu performance per generation since amd went quiet after the fx series.

gta v is a very resource hungry game. but u dont need xenon cpu for gaming. an i7 7700k is wat u need. but if u ask me, i will ask u to wait till cannon lake(8th gen) releases and then buy a new one. ur cpu is not struggling in all games. it still got some life.
