Question CPU frequency on auto causes crashes

My PC is crashing whilst gaming when the CPU is set to auto for frequency. So the clock speeds ramp up and down depending on usage. It crashes whilst gaming, I haven't overclocked it at all.

When i run the CPU at a fixed clock it seems fine. I've installed new RAM and pretty much think that it's fine as i've tried multiple different kits and have the same issue but only when the CPU is on auto.

What could be the issue here?

Ram: Patriot Viper 4 Blackout Series DDR4 32GB (2 x 16GB) 3600MHz Kit (New kit)
SSD/HDD: 512gb M.2 SSD and a 3tb HDD
GPU: 3080
PSU: CORSAIR 750W TXm SERIES™ SEMI-MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET

BIOS version for your motherboard? What sort of temps do you see when the frequency is set to Auto and you've taxed the system?

It's the latest one 3607. I just updated it the other day. Under load in Prime 95, the temps get to about 78-80 whilst on auto, cores seem to be averaging 4755 mhz. CPUID bench score is low on multi thread and just under average for single thread
