Question CPU heating up after installing a new PSU

CPU temps increased after installing new PSU.

I installed a new Corsair HX1500i in my PC but it wouldn't start. I smelled smoke and shut it down. Opened it up to restart and find the source of the smoke. The SATA cable connected to my DVD drive melted. I unplugged it and my system started just fine. I was able to start gaming and downloading again.

Then I ran a hardware monitor and it told me that my CPU was at 100°. It's never broken 62°. Is it possible that my PSU is pushing too much power to my system? The setup says my core voltage is around 0.940 v. I have an i9-10900k and it is recommended to be between 0.8 and 1.5v.

What cpu cooler are using and if aio, is pump working?

Sata plug melted. Can't be using old power cables with a different power supply because pinouts aren't always the same. That's the pitfall of modular power supplies, need to replace everything. Only cables reused are obviously data cables. So, if your cooler uses power (aio pump) and didn't change cable for that too then that might be fried as well.

What was your previous power supply?

The SATA cable was plugged from MoBo to DVD drive. The AIO is Corsair H110i. The ICUE app says it's running. The temp rises to 100° a few minutes after startup. The pumps temp says 34° - 39° and the Core is 100°.

Problem solved. I'm an idiot. I missed a single SATA power cable during my PSU change out. Luckily, the only casualty was a SATA cable connection my DVD drive. My AIO was the only other thing plugged into that power cable and it was running at 234rpm. Now that I've replaced the power cable to it, it's at 2300rpm. My temps are in the high 30's.
