[SOLVED] CPU heats up after installing a new SSD, and I get low FPS in any game ?

So with my old 128GB SSD I had no issues running any games, but when i installed my new 500GB SSD it just heats up in seconds, and when running a game it has really low FPS ?

What cooler do you have on the CPU? If its a large air cooler, you might have bumped it braking the thermal past bond, remove clean and reapply thermal paste. If its a AIO cooler check to see if the pump is still running.

/facepalm guess i should look to see what forum im in. What manufacture laptop do you have? Since you had to take the back case off i would take it off again and start the laptop and make sure the fan is spinning.

its a Lenovo idea pad and the fan work fine

i just dont understand why my laptop decides to heat up when i run a game on the 500gb SSD with fps problems and when i run the game with the 128gb SSD its fine

It's messed up pretty bad! You're throttling severely. I'd say you somehow moved the cooling assembly and broke the thermal paste bond.

You need to disassemble the laptop again. The cooling solution needs to be properly cleaned, re-pasted with thermal compound and correctly reinstalled.
