It was working fine at 34C while watching YT then it launched up to 50C. Restarted and left it on the desktop with MSI companion open, went up to 61C reddit says its normal but there is no way that's true.

Just because you personally are not doing anything does not mean that Windows and any software you have installed is not doing anything. Windows performs all sorts of maintenance functions in the background. Other software from Intel which you may have installed also performs maintenance functions in the background. The same applies to browsers which may perform update maintenance functions in the background. If it climbs to 61 and stays there longer then a second after Windows has finished whatever chores it was doing, then CPU cooling is faulty.Just because you personally are not doing anything does not mean that Windows and any software you have installed is not doing anything.
