CPU holding me back??

Hey guys I need some help because I have seen videos on YouTube of a gtx 760 sc doing super good on a lot of games still and I got a steal near by for $30 but I have an amd a4 7300 app and the gtx 760 but can bearly even run games. On csgo I run 50 fps on low 720p and I have seen videos of the game maxed at 1080p and they get about 180 fps. So is my cpu holding back my gpu?

Yup. What motherboard do you have? You might be able to upgrade to a compatible Athlon X4 for that system that will give you much better performance than what you have you might not hit the 180fps but it will for certain be much better than 50fps. Otherwise later down the line upgrade with a new CPU/Motherboard/Memory given AMD's Zen (Ryzen) and Intel's iX(3,5,7,9) series of chips are much faster than the Bulldozer series of chips which your a4-7300 is based on.

Yeah I have someone who can sell me a ryzen 7 pretty cheap with a new motherboard too. I’ll just have to make the jump to ddr4 ram

I have upgraded to a ryzen 7 1700 and bearly even get like 10 more fps if you have anything you can help me with that would be great

What motherboard and memory do you have with the 1700 only getting 60fps seems kind of odd unless you are using vsync.
