i was just wondering, and after seeing this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khoTYa3m9u8) it has kinda made me reconsider using intel.
is the video correct?
thanks!!!

3770k is only $100 bucks more. Why not go with that?

I think its funny that those who claim to not be the fanboys always seem to do the most arguing.

I could see why this would matter if the budget was $500. But it's not. With a $1k budget he can easily get the 2500K or 3570k. A 3570k, GTX660TI/7950 and a good motherboard should be what, $650-700? Leaving $300 for a case, PSU, ram and whatever drives he wants? If the OP was trying to squeeze in the best $100 CPU I could see trying to decide between the FX4xxx, 955 etc, or whatever low end SB/IB chip. But instead we scare off the op and ruin his thread arguing over how smart we are. Good job guys.

It doesn't say at all what the game conditions were for the test. I can play by myself in less crowded areas with super high frame rates just fine. Enter a 4 player game with a screen full of hordes of monsters and player skills going off at the same time? Laaaag. Terrible lag. And I know it's a cpu bottleneck, because I checked GPU usage and the gpu wasn't even being fully utilized. My friend experienced lag with PII and upgraded to intel and it went away for reals. No bullshit. The same thing happens in SC II in custom maps with tons of units, or in team vs team games where several 200/200 supply armies clash. The CPU is the main factor many situations. I will not ever recommend AMD unless you're super cheap, but even then you'll regret it. I know I do. And in spite of having an overclocking board and BE phenom II, I was never able to stably overclock the thing even 100 mhz, so I would not bank on being able to overclock your phenom II 600 mhz. Might be I just got unlucky but whatever.

stop posting stupid stuff. If you have problems, post your own thread. Nothing you say is correct.

Because the only difference between i5s and i7s is HyperThreading, no game uses it, and no game ever will..

I assume thats directed at me, notice I didn't challenge you when you made your comment, which is one I've heard you say before about buying the better CPU rather than suffer through the occasional things the other is weak at. Why didn't I say anything about it? Because it was a valid point. The fact is, and I'm not going to say I didn't contribute to the arguing but, this was a reasonable discussion in the beginning before someone just couldn't help themselves but post irrelevant information/incorrect information, hit and run link posting without context. Like I said, I won't pretend to be innocent here, but I will not own up to being the one who started it. And now that I have had to sit here and remind myself of how old I am.. Well.. theres enough info for the OP to make his decision in this thread if he sifts through the BS.

Of course - since you are obtuse - you missed a couple of important points:

The higher IPC of the phenom 2 ftw, now imagine if the benches were with overclocked processors. Cpu bound games are especially telling.

And just for fun:

"Yet the FX-8350's gaming performance almost exactly matches that of the Core i3-3225"

In a thread with an OP asking about a games video, and wanting to know which cpu's were better for games ....

:ange:

Thank you!!!! god all i wanted to know was what was the best price for performance in gaming. and now i know for the price, the i5-3570k will be what i need.
ps. why soooo much hate from fanboys?? i mean its a processor, not a debate club back in high school!!! some people like amd for their own reasons, some people like intel. i really dont care as long as it does good!!! :pfff:
