CPU is the ONLY one lagging in the house with extreme packet drops.

So basically, I've been dealing with this for over a month now, and its really annoying and frustrating (especially since my internet service won't help) So I'm not too sure what it is, but A couple of weeks ago my download and upload speeds were REALLY bad I'm talking 144/4 bad. I've fixed it now. but I'm still lagging. and I think I'm having packet loss, but it comes in spikes. Like i'll be fine *BOOM* teleport. And on one of the games I play "Fortnite" it allows you to monitor your ping and packet loss, and it'll be fine one moment, and then *BOOM* 5- 4 packets ps. Also I'm the ONLY one feeling this in my house. no one else is feeling this, So I've suspected that its my computer, but I have literally tried everything. (I use a Ethernet Cable) But its not that either cause I unplugged it, and was still spiking in packet loss. Things that I've tried...
-Running scan
-switching ports in router (for ethernet cable)
-getting rid of junk
-fixing registry files
-restarting my pc
-restarting router (multiple times)
-I've tried contacting the internet services (so don't tell me too)
-I've tried playing other games and it still lags.
-and to be sure, my brother plays fortnite aswell and at the top he gets 0 packet loss.

Any help would be much appreciated, if anyone has any answers or ideas of what the h*ll is going on please let me know. I'm willing to send all kinds of info to help you get my PC better.

Are you the admin of the router or is someone else in the house the admin? Could router settings have been changed? i.e. could your brother changed the router to favor HIS gaming for example ?? Have you tried a continuous ping to the router to verify that your link to the router is stable?

no how do I do that exactly?

sorry for being stupid I just did it and it says I have 0% packet loss.

Yep it still says 0% packet loss.

So you are playing, having packet loss in-game but the continuous ping to the router is having 0% loss? If so, then you either have an internal problem in the router or an ISP problem. If you have a separate router and modem, you could take the router out of the equation and connect your PC direct to the modem. You want to run a software firewall on your PC because your PC is directly accessible to the internet when connected to the modem. Test your game. If you still have packet loss, then it is completely on the ISP or game hosting sites network. There is nothing you can do with your network to correct.

well i do have modem, so you want me to plug my ethernet cable into the modem and NOT the router?

That is the only way to determine if the router is the cause of your packet loss. You were pinging on your LAN and had no packet loss (up to the router). You were pinging to a game server (through your router) and had packet loss. The only way to determine if the router is the culprit is to take it out (or replace it) in the equation.

ok well the technician guy just came and didn't fix anything... So to be clear you want me to plug my ethernet cable into the modem and then ping it to see if its the one lagging?

No. I want you to plug your PC into the modem and play your game. Your PC will be as directly connected to the game server as possible. If you still have packet loss, then either there is a problem with your ISP/game server or there is a problem internal to the PC. We are eliminating the router as a source of problems.

Oh yea I knew that, I tried it and it fixed my lag... BUT my modem is connected to the router, and whenever I disconnect it, everyone elses internet goes off. So the entire house gets mad at me

Of course, everyone's internet goes off. But this was just a test. Your router is causing your problems for some reason. I don't see that you have ever listed the model of router. But, I think you will need to get permission to factory reset the router. You say you have reset (power cycled I assume), but you have never factory reset it and recreated the WIFI. That would be my first recommendation. And start saving your pennies for a replacement router.

No i've never tried that

No i've never tried that

it didn't work could i just buy this? https://www.walmart.com/ip/TSV-RJ45-1-to-3-Socket-Ethernet-Network-LAN-Cable-Splitter-Extend-Adapter-Connector/633401727?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=2961&adid=22222222227237005490&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=281005415676&wl4=pla-469112181747&wl5=9026832&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=113509951&wl11=online&wl12=633401727&wl13=&veh=sem&gclid=Cj0KCQjwof3cBRD9ARIsAP8x70Mbv7-yIkwT7GeobGp23reJZJL_klrPJxHPeRy5dTIqn6stAP05V8YaApbaEALw_wcB

And do what with it? I don't know of anything useful that device from walmart would do ...

Well could I plug it into my modem and use the extra slots for both my router and my pc?

No. Your ISP only provides one public IP address. Only one device can plug into the modem. A router or a PC. Not both.

I still don't see what router you have currently.

like you want the name of the router?

Are you experiencing online gaming issues with any other games? It seems that its a common issue with Fortnite.

Yes i am along with Discord as well. I re-did the internet test and it came out like this... https://speedof.me/show.php?img=180919001724-4842.png the download and upload speed just keeps dipping, and dropping.
