Hi, I finished my first pc build about a month ago and now it won't turn on. The CPU LED on the motherboard is staying lit so I know it is either a problem with either the CPU or the mobo. This has happened once before but when I reseated the CPU that fixed it. This time that didn't work. Thanks for your help.

Build:
CPU: Intel i7 4790
GPU: XFX Radeon 7870
Motherboard: Asus Z87-A
RAM: GSkill Ripjaws X 2x4GB

UPDATE: I reseated the Graphics card and this fixed it but I would like to know maybe how to stop this from happening in the future. Thanks.

If it was merely a badly seated card or accumulation of dust in the slot (which reseating fixes anyway) there's not a lot you can do except make sure all cards have their backplates screwed down tight, and keep your case interior clean (blast all the dust out every few months - depending on how long you keep it running per day or per week).
