So im pretty sure that I have the oldest gaming computer in the world and would like to retire this old gal. here are my current specs

Processor
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor 3.2Ghz

RAM
24 GB 666

Video Card
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

Harddrive
Hitachi HDS721075kla330

I would like to replace the processor and ram which will probably lead to replacing the motherboard and maybe even the power source. I would like to keep the graphics and the hard drive. I would also prefer to keep this as cheap as possible as im a college student and would just like to run battlefield 5.

my budget is $600, please help friends!

600 what?

A stronger CPU, either Ryzen5 1600/2600(X) or an i5-8400 would be solid upgrade paths, or an i7-8700 etc.

The 970 is a strong GPU, even today... so totally viable to keep that.

What PSU do you have? If it's of the Phenom era, then it's probably worth replacing - even if it was good quality at the time, it's pretty dated now.

Without knowing your actual budget, it's tough to say.

Assuming dollars:
