Hi everyone,

I have a question that's been bothering me.

Intel Processor 10900K supports DDR4-2933 MHZ
Motherboard Z490 AORUS Ultra supports 5000 /4933 /4800 /4700 /4600 /4500 /4400 / 4300 / 4266 / 4133 / 4000 / 3866 / 3800 / 3733 / 3600 / 3466 / 3400 / 3333 / 3300 / 3200 / 2933 / 2667 / 2400 / 2133 MHz memory modules.

Which component will deliver the maximum speed from the RAM I buy?

In other words, If I buy RAM with 4000 Mhz would it run at 2933 or 4000?

Look closely at the specifications page for the motherboard and you will see that anything above 2933 is considered overclocking (O.C.). Many of the speeds will probably work but overclocking is not guaranteed to work. You'll need to use XMP memory profiles to get the higher speeds.

Since it's not guaranteed there's no telling how high you can get it to be stable. You just try it and when it is stable move up to the next higher speed. When it goes unstable move back one speed and that's your speed.

If you want to play it safe you can get 2933 guaranteed.
