[SOLVED] CPU or GPU for upgrade

guys im planning to upgrade my PC
current specs

i3 4170
gtx 750ti
8gb ram

i am thinking if its okay to upgrade the gpu to 1070
or upgrade the cpu to i5 coffee lake needs some inputs guys thanks

A 1070 will be heavily bottlenecked by that i3. There'd be no point to. Upgrade CPU first.

just pop in a SSD, and get a 1050Ti at most if you planning to keep this system for next 3-4 years
1070 is a big NO for any i3 old or new


if not and u plan on a new rig in next 2 years
get GPU when you find a good deal, then get better CPU, when ever you find a good deal.. GPU first as they just came out, in about year we will have 7nm and 10nm CPUs so wait for them, CPU is not worth upgrading at least not in 2019, wait for 3rd gen ryzen and 10nm Intel chips

yeah there will be a bottleneck but i can only either upgrade the cpu or the gpu. but i am also thinking to get rx580 then change the i5 to i3 8100 i think i can do both. what you think guys. my budget is pretty much 475 usd

pretty much case, power supply, and hdd, just going to change mobo, ram, cpu since i will be updgrading to another gen. will still be using my power supply since its a cougar 500 SL and its still in good condigtion. if i will upgrade my components or just the gpu.

Agree you are best to start with cpu/motherboard/RAM and get the gpu next. However I recommend a new psu, what you have is very low quality and I wouldn’t risk new parts on it.

The CPU is very important for us. And which is really helpful for us. I use the system and In this, I can access the outlook in the system. And if I have an error with outlook then go to the outlook error 0x8004011d to solve the problem. which provide good service.
