Hey there,

So I stopped gaming for awhile and I've been playing the heck of Destiny 2 now. Overall my computer is handling it pretty good i think, but I get slight microsutters I believe. My frames are about 90FPS avg on ultra setting.

However the microsutters do bug me a lot cuz they are the worst times in PVP. So my quetion is is this my CPU bottlenecking and not keeping up with my 980 TI SLI or is my GPU not strong enough to keep up ? I'm not tech savey so I was hoping to get help with this !

edit: CPU has stable OC of 4.4 and I never overclocked my GPUS

second edit: I failed to mention it seems random but when talkin to NPC there dialoage or givine me loot seems to take forever to happen as its loading. would this be hardware issue or ingame problem ?

I would sell your 980tis. They go for $175-200 each.
A new $350- 400 GPU like an RX5700xt or RTX2060 super would cream a 980ti or even both in SLI.

i would blame sli for microstutters
u can try disable sli if stuttering goes away
or if u have multiple monitors with each of them running on different refresh rate, that can also cause stuttering

I get it either way SLI or single card but with the muitple monitors, if the second monitor is just for browesing the web and ect while playing a game would that still cause a problem ?

If SLI is disabled when you are experiencing this, I would look past GPUs.

16gb RAM should be plenty and shouldn't cause micro stutter.

Your CPU however, only has 4 threads, which can get overwhelmed in some games, so this is a possibility for the cause of the issue.

What are CPU and GPU temps in game?

Just played a sesson and using NZXTcam to monitor

Cpu was 90%-100% load with 60-65 temps

GPU was 70-80% load 70ish temps

Try to sell both 980Ti's individually (I see goofy pricing of $300-$340+ plus for them on Amazon, mostly by people still hanging on to SLI, or adding one to get SLI, perhaps), and perhaps get a single 2060 Super afterward? (Put the other $300-$350 towards an R5-3600/MB/DDR4 RAM kit)

You'll be set for ~4 years afterward...!

Well for the time being tell I could sell them ! What good MoBo, water cooler and DD4 kit should I pair with the Ryzen 3600x ?

I dont care for RGB but I like to stick to my black and white theme ! Thanks !

Thanks man !

So with these parts will I be able to play Ulta on new games like cyberpunk at 1440p as well ? I don't mind spending more to future proof myself for 4 or 5 years

Yea they can run plenty of new games at high settings at 1440p.

Here is an alternative GPU.
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/rk...d-oc-video-card-rx-5700-xt-challenger-d-8g-oc
This GPU will add a little performance over a 2070 and is a little cheaper, although it will draw more power (although your PSU is more than overkill) and lacks hardware real-time raytracing support (makes supported games look prettier depending on who you ask, but for a massive performance cut) . Also, there have been some driver issues with these cards.
