Hi guys, recently when I play some games with heavier graphics, I noticed some pretty big lag. What should I upgrade, the i3 class core i5 or my HD7770 GPU that worked for my dad's computer before? I have about 160 USD budget.)
(btw my GPU recently starting to have graphical glitches. I ran memtest for VRAM, and get a lot of errors.)
Specs:
i5 7500 (about 4 years old)
Asrock b250m pro4
Sapphire Radeon HD7770 vapor-x overclocked to 1200mhz,1GB VRAM,about 9 years old
16GB ram

I guess I will get something like rx590/580 or gtx1650/1050. Thanks for the advice.
You won't get a RX 580/590 or GTX 1650 super in your $160 budget, because you need to factor in shipping and taxes if applicable. The best you can hope for is a GTX1650 or RX570 with the RX570 being around 10-13% faster than the 1650 in many games. Your PSU will be able to handle either card without issue. Get the graphics card first and then save up to get a 500GB-1TB SSD if you don't have one yet.

If you look at getting a used graphics card, you could probably get a GTX 970/1060/RX570/580 for around $50-100 on ebay. Keep in mind though, that many of them were used for mining cryptocoins so you might want to avoid sellers selling more than two of any of those cards. Your PSU can handle a card that has 2x8 pin PCIE connections, but I wouldn't use anything that uses more than 1x8pin or 2x6pin PCIE.

Get an RX570. Dont get the 1650 since is an expensive trash. If you can find the RX570 at 140 usd, buy an SSD too (if you dont have one). I recomment the Kingston A400 240GB. Format the system and put windows in it.
