Mobo- Asus Prime z-270
Cpu - 6700k
Power supply - Corsair 750m
My computer was working fine, I was using it no issues. My new GPU came in the mail, GTX 1080, I shut it down and installed the GPU and now I'm getting a High CPU voltage error. I tried to reinstall the old GPU and it still gave me the warning. I didn't change anything else. What could be the issue? The rest of the build is no more than a year old.

Solution
You could have not been grounded when you started, causing a short when you touched something.
You might have pushed the motherboard down to make contact with the case, causing a short.
I would start by resetting the bios to default. If that does not help, I would try building the system on a cardboard box or other smooth, non-conductive surface to rule out case shorts.
You can also try re-seating the cpu in it's socket. It may have re-positioned itself while you were swapping parts.
Make sure you have the proper cable going to the Cpu and Gpu. They should only fit one way but I've seen it happen.

If all else fails, try the cpu in a different system, or a different cpu in your system, to rule out damage from shorts.
