CPU overclock motherboard

Solution
your hardware is not for overclocking. but you can instead use the BCLK of your RAM to up your CPU frequency. use 0.02 increments and up your RAM voltages very carefully... i dont knwo the limits of your board.

you can also use the AI suite to do it for you. with the 5way optimization tool. use asus optimized defaults. slide more towards RAM overclocking than CPU.

Sandy bridge has limited oc on non k. 4 bins above turbo puts him at 4.2ghz without touching bclk. There's a reason why they removed this feature in later cpus.

How I would do it: put multi to 42, vcore offset to whatever gets 1.3v. That's probably like -0.05. Stress test. Good? Lower vcore and repeat to find the lowest vcore that's it's stable.

Do not use the asus software. There have been plenty of reports of issues with it. Uninstall it if it is installed.
