Hi

I have an older alienware aurora r3 system with an upgraded graphics card and psu.
Gigabyte windforce gtx 780
i7 2600k @3.4GHz:(
8gb ram @1600MHz

Alienware set overclock profiles in the bios, and can supposedly go up to 4.1GHz, though when i apply it, with cpu-z it seems to stay at 3.4GHz. Though, for each core the ratio is 4.1GHz. Along with this, cinebench scores actually slightly decreases. And a side note is i can't adjust the base clock.

Any help appreciated :)

do you have some kind of power saving setting on? that could be throttling you. as could temps, i would keep an eye on them. as for the speed in cpu-z...its possible its not getting a good read. i would run a benchmark that can show you the clock speeds in real time.
