I was gaming for a couple hours and my screen froze. When restarting, I got to an Asus page that said CPU overheated.

So, I let it sit for an hour or so and restarted it. It would get to the Windows logo and freeze somewhere after saying 'trying to repair'. I was able to get to the Bios page, but when exiting out of there it would always hang in a similiar spot on the windows logo.

After a couple resets now it won't do anything. Wont load to Bios, wont come on at all. When I turn it on, i get a green light on the MOBO, and a couple quick red leds, no beeps at all, the fans will turn on, but my mouse and keyboard do not power up, and nothing happens on the screen.

Any tips or tricks to help isolate the issue, or get it to come on? I have unplugged it for a bit, and tried it but nothing. The PC is probably 2 years old. Win 8.1 64 bit, intel i7, 32gb memory.

please help, can't afford new pc right now!!

First you need to make your computer to boot properly.
You will probably need to change thermal paste, in case of CPU overheating it usually is dried out.
And make sure your CPU cooler if it is seated properly and fan is spinning.

I don't think motherboard can burn out so easily, but it's possible I guess.

If your motherboard is still alive, after that you will have to fix your windows.
Have windows installation media ready, boot from it and perform recovery steps.

Just search it on youtube and you can see if it's something you find doable.

i'm still confused on this after watching a couple videos on this. This is testing if my power supply is the issue correct? One video said if after doing this the psu fan comes on then you can tell its ok. My fan on my psu runs now...with the power on, as well as the front chassis fan, and the side fan, and the 2 fans on the bottom of my graphics card.

Isn't that an indicator that my psu is working?

Feel the hoses, you should feel the water moving, if not the pump is bad. Another tell tale sign is that one side is super hot the other is cold.

In that case your only option is to replace the All-in-one cooler. H60 is ~$50 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181030&cm_re=h60-_-35-181-030-_-Product or buy a new aircooler like hyper 212 ~$20-30 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099&cm_re=hyper212-_-35-103-099-_-Product. No need to buy thermalpaste, both coolers come with it, h60 is preapplied, just get some artic cleaner http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100010&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-CPU+Thermal+Paste+%2F+Grease-_-N82E16835100010&gclid=Cj0KEQiAvJS3BRDd44fjndyii6MBEiQAN4EkPU9ygtPWNmTk9h338uDKfLZu8qZ2ziPkywX-4jVDsmEaAvqH8P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds or rubbing alcohol if you have it.

Lastly if you are not overclocking and just want to get the system back up and running you could even get away with a stock intel cooler if you google you'll find several prices vary from $5 to $15 just make sure it's for the right socket (which depends on the processor you have). This is a none issue with H60 or 212 since they come with variable brackets.

Hard to tell...feels more like a vibration. Definitely neither is hot, but PC hasn't been "working" since yesterday so not sure it would be.

Would this Corsair all in one not working cause my pc not to boot up?

I can't even get to that anymore. The first couple times it would start up I could get to the Bios, and yes there was a temperature tool. Right after this happened it was extremely hot, I think it was like 165. I shut it off and let it sit for awhile. Then the last time I COULD get to the bios it was like 84.

But now, I get nothing, when I turn it on....no beeps, just all the fans come on. Nothing on the screen and my mouse and keyboard don't power up. I did reseat the 2 16gb memory modules and my video card. Still nothing.

Well, after some other reading on this site I tried taking out the CMOS battery, after unplugging PC, held power switch in for minute, let it sit 5 minutes. then put battery back in , plugged in and it DID come up to the Asus UEFI BIOS utility screen.

Some progress I guess. But, if I exit out of this, it gets stuck on Windows logo screen with "automatic repair" screen.

Staying in bios it hovers around 91 to 93, so sounds like it. But after all the research today i suspect i need a new CPU as well.

Last efforts were to try and boot from windows CD and try restore, repair or refresh, but nothing wouldbwork.

thanks everyone for the the help.
