Hi, this is my first time posting on a thread like this, so forgive any errors or formalities I might have overlooked.

I was using my computer a few days ago when suddenly it shut down and when I tried to turn it back on again it would just shut itself down again after a few minutes. I thought that the problem would be the power supply (power supplies are often the first piece of hardware to fail and I have had no other problems with my computer up until this point) so I replaced the power supply, but still no luck. the computer would power on for a few minutes then power off again. Then I discovered that the CPU was getting very hot, and I checked task manager during the brief minutes of usage and discovered that my disk usage was at 100%, (CPU and memory usage were normal).

I honestly have no idea what the problem is. So if you guys could help solve the problem that would be very much appreciated.

-Thank you

I whould agree with Friedman.Checking your heatsink is one place to begin with. It's secure then buy a compressed air can and blow on that heatsink with it.After that you can try replacing the thermal paste.I recommend MX-4 and/or Arctic Silver 5.After that check your temps with Core Temp. And when it comes to 100% usage on hard drive and cpu I whould think there's a virus.Avast is nice and simple and good antivirus. If all of that doesn't work you will need an aftermarket cooler.(If you had a stock cooler you want to change that out, because you are using a 6 core processor >.>).But the EXTREME solution is to change out the thermal paste on the processor die (processor core).
