Cpu overheats with basic tasks

I got amd athlon 64 x2 2.6ghz duo core. And it overheats with basic tasks like watching video or such like playing simple game like counter strike 1.6. And I dont even start game I just enter it. While in pasive or in unity game engine(but only coding or some other simple tasks not playing game) it is stable more or less 30°-39°C. I didnt notice this because I recently reinstalled os and was in middle of installing drivers when I noticed this. I changed thermal paste 3-4 times but still the same, I dont use top thermal paste like coolermaster or arctic silver, could that be reason.

The paste CAN make a difference, but more than that, it's the application. Too much or not enough can be a major issue.

Is it a stock cooler , most are very poor , get a budget cooler and some MX4.

so a couple things could be happening. 1 ur heatsink might be dusty or ur computer might not be getting a good airflow. if ur computer is on the floor like carpet i would raise it up so i can get better airflow

What do you mean by overheats? Does it reboot, does it throttle, or are you noticing temperatures that you consider to be high? If the latter, tell us what they are.

You've likely had this for years. All you can do is remove the heatsink/fan, clean out all the dust, ensure the fan works properly and reapply with new thermal paste. It might be you're using too much paste as well. Using a quality thermal paste will lead to temperatures that are perhaps 2-4C lower.

For idle, 30-39C is totally OK.

crack the case and hit it with an air duster hard; preferably outside so the dust doesn't circulate back into the case. let it air out for a few minutes and re-assemble. stock cooler on an AMD; you're going to see kinda high temps but so long as your case isn't completely closed it shouldn't be too bad.

It is on carpet, will raise it, thank you.
It is not dusty at all 2-3 weeks I spent most detailed know to manki d 😛, litteraly cleaned peace by peace for over 4 hours and it is crystal clean.
By overgeating I means simply rebdering in 3ds max 2010 which is less then minute work heats for 1-2 degrees every second. Video one degree every 5-15 sec.
On 75 degrees it is shut downs. Opening counter strike 1.6 reaches 55+ without even starting game, i didnt wait more but will do, i guess that even this is high. Will give more info soon.
I use some chinese thermal paster at 50% price of coolernaster, like 2.5€. Piece.

some people go so far as to use lapping compound on the base of their coolers to get all the micro imperfections whittled away, but even a basic thermal grease, used sparingly and spread as thin as ricepaper should provide adequate cooling so long as the fins are clear of dust/debris and there's an acceptable fan on it. maybe you should just go out and get a cheap tower cooler rated for your chip, if nothing else.

So I applied new paste and results are next:
I can watch videos now and teperature goes up to max 48°C, is that too much?
Also my processor overheats and shut downs pc even that is have not reached 75°c.
I have just played random project in unity and temperature have gradually grow until 58c and then I quited but I think it would go even farther. Any help?
I noticed my cpu cools down now faster and heats up slower, but still heats up. Also what is mx4
