CPU Pins bent

Dear fellow CPU guys, I just wanted to ask if a bent CPU pin chip mean that my CPU socket is unusable? I damaged my CPU during installation, wanted to know if a new chip can be used on the same board or will I have to replace both of them.

I've tried bending the pins back but it just wouldn't work (CPU LED remains on) even on the first part of boot component testing with just the HSF and CPU installed. So I think the Cpu is dead. Am I right to assume so?

AMD fx6300 and Asus M5a99x

How did pulling the heatsink out also pull the CPU out? The CPU should have been secured by the socket's latch.

Look at the bottom of the CPU. The pins should be exactly strait coming downwards from the CPU. You should be able to see if the pins are bent fairly clearly because they won't be in line with the rest of the pins.

The socket doesn't have any pins, only holes for the pins of the CPU to insert into.

But AMD sockets are impossible to inspect... Will it be okay for me to get a new CPU to use it on the same mobo?

You bent a pin on the CPU right? Because AMD still has CPUs with pins and sockets with holes, right? If so the socket should be fine and yes its possible to straighten the pins if you are careful. There shouldn't be anything wrong with the socket unless you broke the pins off in the socket.

The cpu pins got bent when I was installing a Cooler master hyper evo 212. When I took out the heatsink it pulled the CPU out together. So.. I dk if its bent.
