CPU & RAM FOR ASUS P5QL/EPU?

Hi All,
I've an ASUS P5QL/EPU m.board & I am looking for the best price/performance CPU/RAM for this. Sorry if sounds vague!

Brief Spec for P5PQL/EPU
CPU:Socket LGA775;
Chipset; Intel P43
FSB:1600(oc) 1333,1066,800 MHz;
Chipset;ICH10
RAM:4xDIMM Max16Gb;DDR2 1066/800/667

My choice is;
CPU:Intel Core 2 Duo E8300/8400
RAM;DDR2; 1066?;2x4 or 4x4
PSU:Enermax ELT500/500w (I've this already)

I don't need to know any particular brand, but would be grateful for any advice or recomendations for the most suitable & best performance/price DDR2 RAM for this MOB to achieve maximum performance without OC.

Asus have indicated only DDR2 667MHz RAM in their spec.chart. Why is that? (Not in the main spec)

I will use this exclusively only for music recording & production. So any help on this will be appreciated.

Asus have indicated only DDR2 667MHz RAM in their spec.chart. Why is that? (Not in the main spec) What confuses me the most is the DDR2/SDRAM voltages some are given @ 1.8v & 2.1v? ASUS doesn't mention anything on this!

well bad news Q8600 or E 2180 are not compatible with your Motherboard, check out the list of compatible CPUS
