Hey there Everyone

I'm thinking of getting the Corsair Dominator Platinum 2666 Ram. I have the Intel I7 4790K which has a read speed for ddr3 memory of 1333 to 1600. Does that Mean my computer will only utilise up to 1600MHZ of my Memory? Because then the 2666MHZ in turn would be a waste of Money.

Can anyone please explain this for me?:??:

It should work OK but you will have to OC the CPU to get that 2666MHz speed from the memory. Most CPU's need to be OC'd for memory speeds of 2133MHz and higher. The MB should be able to support that speed too. Have fun. It will be a learning experience.

EDIT:
That memory will easily work at slower speeds too.

Cheers Mate
I'm currently Over Clocking it to 4.4 GHZ How do I know if the CPU is in Fact reading those Speeds? I know the motherboard can reach the Ridiculous 3300MHZ.
The Reason behind the Questions, is that $525NZD is a rather large investment in 16GB of Ram and I wan't to make sure I get my moneys worth.
