Question CPU reaching 80c-85c while doing nothing, Unsure if my AIO is working

Last night my pc just turned itself off while unpacking a game. No bluescreen nothing just turned itself off, i turned it on and it was slow and turned itself off after a few seconds, I thought something broke but maybe it was just overheating and i was right. I let it cool down and then turn it on again. It didnt turn off anymore even after 2 hours of use. but when i checked during those times my CPU was reaching temps upto 80-85c and simply booting up the browser or literally anything that would use 10% or more of the CPU would cause it to rise up to 90-95c.

Ive changed my thermal paste and reseated my cooler and nothing really changed. Ive also noticed that my clock speeds are around 3600-4100 MHz even on idle so i went to windows and changed my power plan to power saving and now it keeps my clocks at around 1700 MHz, but lowers my performance on games by a noticeable amount. but has kept my pc at a safe 55 to 60c.

How can i know if my AIO is failing? or could it possibly be an issue with my CPU?

ive checked the tubes of the AIO and one tube is alot hotter than the other and theres still a bit a vibration.

What i havent done yet right now is clean the radiator of my AIO

PC specs:
Ryzen 5 3600
PowerColor Rx 570
HyperX 16 gb ram
Corsair CV650

Yeah i think so too i really didnt know i had to clean it lol all i thought was to clean the fans and it was fine.

as for the AIO its an ID Cooling Zoomflow 240 X aio

The fans blow or suck air though rad, so any dust will gather in the radiator. I have to clean mine every few months or fans get noisy and temps rise...

this was before I cleaned them a while ago, I just did it again and they weren't so bad

shame their support faq is broken - https://www.idcooling.com/Support/faq

could be its failing - link

I had to swap from a Corsair 240mm AIO to a 360 last December as mine started to die. Was only 2 years old. Could have been me upgrading CPU that caused it, or Corsairs software

Was pas 2 jaar oud. Had ik het upgraden van de CPU kunnen zijn die het veroorzaakte, of Corsairs-software
You can also download Fan control via github and watch this Youtube movie on how to set it up. I've never had such a good Fan control and it works great
You could also check the task manager to see how much CPU usage you have and by what. High system usage for no reason may also be a sign that you have a trojan or virus.
Good luck

Succes

Hi thanks for your reply ill be replying in english though sorry, I dont think i have a virus i have less than 5% cpu usage on task manager and i still have 80c temps, I ran an antivirus and it also didn't detect anything thankfully and by looking at HWinfo my utilization seems normal at around 10-20% with alot of things open

What were idle temps before now?
My 5800x3d idles at 27c, but I never saw anything below 32c on my 3600XT. (it is winter here)

You should only need to use compressed air or something like this to clean radiator. Blow the dust out of it.

If temps don't improve you might need a new AIO.

Idle temps before when i got it installed were around 35-40c if i remember correctly its pretty warm here too in my country so i figure those were normal. Right now im just considering ditching the AIO its too much of a hassle to clean when ive been so busy lately but ill consider cleaning it still thanks!

yeah, ambient temps will play into it. If its summer for instance

it doesn't take very long to blow air through it, should only need to clean it every 3 months or so. Also depends how dusty environment is
I cleaned mine this afternoon after your 1st post and before your 3rd. Took about 10 minutes to do my entire case - cleaned all my fans, didn't bother with GPU.

But your choice :)

ive checked the tubes of the AIO and one tube is alot hotter than the other and theres still a bit a vibration.
This means - liquid flow is not happening. Either pump dead or cpu block clogged.
Both tubes should be ~ same temperature.

When this happens, you're supposed to replace AIO. It's not meant to be user serviceable.

Alternative is disassembling cpu block and cleaning all gunk from it.
If pump has failed, then you have to replace entire AIO anyway.

Try fan control you can then immediately see if all fan's and CPU is working properly and download it is free: https://github.com/Rem0o/FanControl.Releases/releases/tag/V194
